Graduiertenseminar/ Brown Bag Talks

 -  11:00 Uhr
DFKI Vortrag
New research challenges in robotics, which arise from attempts to get robots out of isolated environments into human spaces with a close human-robot interaction, demand new methods to acquire a deeper understanding of the human behavior and intentions. Especially in Learning from Demonstration (LfD)…

Externer Vortrag

Interactive Assistive Robots for People with Impairments

von: Dr. Maria Kyrarini  (Santa Clara University, CA, USA)
Abstract: Assistive robotic manipulators have the potential to support individuals with impairments to regain some of their independence in performing Activities of Daily Living. For individuals with impairments, interaction with assistive robotic manipulators is a very challenging task. In this ta…

Externer Vortrag

Introducing the Honduras Oceanographic Society initiative

von: Andres Baltasar Alegria Chinchilla  (Alfred Wegener Institute, Bremen)
The Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Honduras expands ∼210,000 km2 and remains largely unexplored. After the Global Deep-Sea Capacity Assessment defined a baseline of the technical and human capacity for deep-sea exploration and research worldwide in 2022, it stated that Central America is the sub-r…

Externer Vortrag

The fantastic voyage of microrobots towards medical applications

von: Paul Wrede, Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems Stuttgart
The controlled and targeted delivery of pharmaceutical agents and therapies are major challenges in pharmacology and medicine. To date pharmaceutical agents are given systemically undermining their effectiveness and leading to side- and off-target effects. Even though passive targeting by the use of…

Externer Vortrag
AbstractThe fragmentation of the global data domain is dramatically increasing being one of the major reasons for the 80% data wrangling we need to do in each data driven project. We are wasting huge amounts of funds due to all the inefficiencies in research and industry and the pressure towards con…

Externer Vortrag

DFKI Vortrag

PhD Talk: Efficient motion planning for mobile manipulation in planetary exploration.

von: Gonzalo J. Paz Delgado  (Universität Malaga/DFKI GmbH)
Space is the main unknown that bounds human understanding and technology progression. Exploring space is difficult, costly and dangerous, hence robotics arise as the most suitable alternative. In particular, planetary exploration vehicles, also called rovers, have become the best option to carry sci…

 -  09:00 Uhr
DFKI Vortrag
Over the past two decades Whole-Body Control (WBC) has become the standard method for controlling robots with redundant degrees of freedom, such as humanoids or mobile manipulators. WBC enables the simultaneous execution of multiple tasks by formulating them as constraints or within the cost functio…

 -  13:30 Uhr
Kolloquium
An ever-increasing number of in-orbit objects coupled with inadequate post-mission mitigation activities in certain orbital regions is causing a reaction from the space community more then ever. On one hand, a more sustainable usage of orbital environment is being explored while on the other, method…
