Open Day on 30.08.: Dive into the world of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
During a tour of the DFKI building, you will learn about current projects, which our scientists will explain to you using numerous impressive exhibits and demonstrations. For example, you will learn about the benefits of research for application areas such as space travel, agriculture and industrial production, which robots are used underwater, in space and for medical assistance, or how intelligent systems can help in environmental protection and in disaster areas. In the Maritime Exploration Hall, the only one of its kind in Europe, you can see autonomous underwater vehicles being developed for applications such as inspecting deep-sea facilities or recovering munitions. In the artificial lunar crater landscape, innovative space rovers demonstrate their ability to overcome obstacles. You can also see many other robots in action, including the reigning world champion in robot soccer, B-Human; an autonomous strawberry-picking robot that will help harvest crops in the future; the magnetic inspection robot Magnet Crawler, which can inspect the steel towers of wind turbines; and a robotic exoskeleton for rehabilitation after a stroke.
Visitors can also participate in hands-on activities, such as maneuvering a magnetic inspection robot along a wall. Younger visitors will enjoy fishing for sweets with a remote-controlled underwater robot. A short introduction to quantum computing and a DFKI cinema with exciting research films, e.g. from field tests on a lake in Abisko National Park in northern Sweden and in lava caves on Lanzarote, round off the extensive program.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Open Day at DFKI in Bremen!
The event is free of charge. Groups of 10 people or more are requested to register by e-mail to event-hb(at)dfki.de.
Open Research2Industry Day
Under the title "Open Research2Industry Day", we explicitly invite interested parties from industry, trade and services to our Open Day. During the event, you will have the opportunity to learn about current AI topics in application areas such as aerospace, maritime industry, production and logistics, security and healthcare, as well as quantum computing. We will be happy to discuss your individual path in person and advise you on the specific use of AI and robotics technologies. We look forward to meeting you in person!
