Cleanroom
The approximately 37 m² clean room, designed to meet ISO 6 standards, is one of the most critical technical facilities required for the production, integration, and testing of orbital and planetary robots, subsystems, or components. This facility is essential for preparing these technologies to reach high Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) for real-world operational environments.
Electronic Integration and Testing Capabilities
The clean room at DFKI-RIC in Bremen is equipped with cutting-edge electronic devices such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, various multimeters, and testing equipment (e.g., EMC), as well as specialized soldering stations. These tools enable precise testing, assembly, and troubleshooting of electronic components. Whether refining circuit designs, performing delicate soldering tasks, or measuring critical parameters, the clean room provides an ideal environment for high-precision electronic work. This ensures maximum reliability and performance of technologies for advanced aerospace research.
Mechanical Integration and Inspection Capabilities
The DFKI-RIC clean room in Bremen is also outfitted with a comprehensive range of mechanical tools designed for seamless integration of complex systems under clean room conditions. From assembling intricate mechanical structures to achieving precise alignments and installations, the clean room supports the development and testing of robust mechanical systems essential for space applications. The controlled environment ensures that all mechanical integration tasks are carried out with the highest accuracy and cleanliness, which is vital for mission-critical projects.
