For many years now, DFKI in Bremen has regularly participated in the nationwide Future Day with activities for girls and boys aged 12 and up. At the Robotics Innovation Center (RIC), the day of action usually starts with an exciting tour of the laboratories and test facilities. Afterwards, the children either accompany their scientific mentors or they can get active themselves in a small workshop and try their hand at programming with Arduino under the guidance of DFKI scientists. This is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. There is also always plenty of opportunity to talk to the mentors and exchange information about training opportunities, for example.
