Yuri’s Night Bremen: DFKI Researchers Offer Fascinating Insights into Space Robotics

On April 11, 2026, the DFKI Robotics Innovation Center and the Yuri’s Night Bremen team invite you to discover the DFKI’s unique laboratory facilities in Bremen as part of this global event. During guided tours from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, visitors of all ages—especially children and families—will gain exciting insights into the fascinating world of space robotics.

At the DFKI Robotics Innovation Center, scientists are working on innovative systems that lay the technological groundwork for future robotic space missions. Visitors have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and gain exciting insights into current developments in space exploration. The event is specifically designed for people of all ages and particularly invites children to experience research up close.

A special highlight is the approximately 200 m² realistic crater landscape. The rugged and rugged test environment is modeled after conditions on the Moon and serves as a testing ground for novel robots and rovers that are intended for use in future space missions.

During the guided tours, experts will provide fascinating insights into the development of these technologies, introduce various robotic systems, and explain why autonomous and remotely controlled robots are indispensable for space exploration.

Those interested can join one of four guided tours between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required.
