System description
The ML accelerator demonstrator provides of a testbed for comparison and benchmarking of ML algorithms and processors for space application.
The overall ML accelerator demonstrator consists of a cPCI serial rack and an EGSE workstation. The cPCI serial rack consists again of the following components:
- EKF SC5-FESTIVAL CompactPCI Serial CPU Card, EKF S42-MC Mezzanine Module, AAEON mPCI-E AI Accelerator (Myriad 2 2450) & Myriad X mPCI
- ATSAMV71-XULT SAM V71 Xplained Ultra Evaluation Kit (SAMV71Q21)
- cPCI Serial 7-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch
- EKF SRS-3201-BLUBOXX cPCI serial rack
- ZynqBrain v2 (Zynq Ultrascale+ (XCZU4EG)) with cPCI serial carrier board
All communication is established via Gigabit Ethernet on the front panel of the cPCI serial rack. The backplane provides power supply to all boards except for the SAMV21Q21 MCU evaluation board. The MCU evaluation board is connected via USB to the CPU card. The evaluation board is powered via the USB connection and at the same time the USB connection is used for debugging.
