Battery Management Systems (BMSs) are contemporary research areas because the world is shifting to renewable energies. In automobile industries nowadays there are researches which focus on how to maximize the battery performance of electric vehicles. Because there is a tradeoff between the capacity and the weight of the battery, increasing the capacity of battery only causes an increase in the weight and cost of the car. Since the overall performance of the battery is affected by the weakest cell, transferring energy from the most charged cell to the weakest cell maximizes the battery performance. In this progress presentation entitled IMBMS, what has been done so far, which is the hardware design, and what will be done next, which is the software design, will be presented.
