Multi-Motor applications have become a very attractive field in industrial plants i.e. paper machines, excavators, drilling machines, to name some examples. A multi-motor drive is defined as the coupling of two or more motors in a drive system. This introductory talk for my Bachelors thesis, entitled "simulation, synchronization and control of a multi-motor drive" includes the topics of motivation, goals of the Bachelor thesis, modes of multi-motor, coupling types of motors, synchronization techniques and the introduction to the multi-motor test bed.
