Modular Spacecraft Standard Interconnect Benchmark

To reduce the cost and effort of space missions, the space industry is exploring concepts for in orbit assembly and maintenance. As these activities are carried out by robotic manipulators, the used spacecraft have to be comprised of suitable modules. For theses modules to be usable across multiple missions, a standardized interface for interconnection is required. The European project PERIOD, in its efforts to design a demonstration mission for such a system, has to find such an appropriate interface, as no such standard exists yet. To determined the suitability, multiple candidates are subjected to a benchmark.

This presentation presents the findings and summarizes the activities of the master thesis.
