Comparison between Event Related Desynchronizations and Synchronizations and Movement Related Cortical Potentials based movement prediction on EEG data

Different patterns can be recognized in EEG recordings preceding the onset of movements. At least two different processes can be distinguished: event-related de-synchronization (ERD) and synchronization (ERS), and movement related cortical potentials (MRCP). 

The focus of the thesis is the comparison between movement prediction based on ERD/ERSs and MRCPs. In this second presentation the proceedings of the project will be shown. 

The two patterns will be briefly compared from a neurobiological point of view 

on the basis of what is reported in literature. The processing flow implemented for ERD/ERS will then be presented, as well as the results of movement prediction based on this pattern. The comparison with MRCP based prediction will be discussed in the final presentation.
