System description
TIAGo is a robot by the Spanish manufacturer PAL Robotics. At DFKI TIAGo is used as a platform for testing and demonstrating the development of different software components for robots, and their integration into a complete system. One of these components is the hierarchical hybrid planning system CHIMP. With CHIMP the robot can reason about the actions it has to perform to accomplish a goal task, e.g., serving a coffee to a guest. Furthermore, to execute these plans, the robots needs to compare the plan's assumptions with the dynamic environment that it operates in. Therefore, execution monitoring, sensor fusion, object detection and the representation of environment in a semantic map are further topics that are developed and tested with TIAGo.
