The market for mobile robot systems is not only continuously growing, but also robot technology is advancing at a terrific speed. First start-up enterprises develop service robots for the end user, and larger enterprises have discovered and are investing in mobile robotics in the fields of space, underwater, and terrestrial uses as upcoming business areas. To date, however, there are still a number of market barriers impeding a speedy development of the robotics market.
This study dealt with the prediction for the robotics market and the state of the art regarding test and demonstration installations for robots. Subsequently, the demand for these installations and their regional impact were analyzed. To estimate a possible realization, the demands on and the need for a test demonstration center were specified and the possible costs calculated.
Finally, the conclusions were clarified and recommendations were given for the next steps towards the realization of a test and demonstration center robotics.
