In the field of innovative software technologies, the German Research Center for Artificial
Intelligence (DFKI) is the leading research institution in Germany, and in the international
science community the DFKI ranks among the most important “Centers of Excellence”
worldwide.

Within research projects at DFKI Bremen there are open positions for

Senior Researchers (Post Docs) in Robotics

Candidates applying for this position will have the opportunity to lead upcoming projects in the area of space or underwater robotics.

Position 1:
We expect applicants to have experience in several of the following topics:

  • Experience in Visual Data Processing
  • Sensor Fusion
  • Classification Methods
  • Good Programming Skills (C++, C)

Beneficial skills would be:

  • Experienced with Linux
  • Programming Experience in Ruby
  • (Visual) SLAM
  • Machine Learning
  • Field Robotics


Position 2:
We expect applicants to have experience in several of the following topics:

  • Autonomous Robot Supervision
  • Plan Execution/Adaptation
  • Integration Frameworks
  • Good Programming Skills (C++, C, Ruby)

Beneficial skills would be:

  • Automated Planning (Timeline Planning, MDP)
  • Experience with Orocos
  • Experience with the Europa2 planner
  • Field Robotics

For both positions proven experience in project management and acquisition are a strong plus.
